Had Tony and Jim Smith in town for a vacation/casino/father son fishing trip. Tony used to work for Sport Fishing, and Wakeboarding Magazines, so we had plenty to talk about. In between stories about far away fishing and skiing destinations we found trout, reds and flounder. We found our trout in the 9 mile area first thing in the morning. We fished the mouth of a drain that led into a pond. Did find the every cast bite, but the fish were small. Tony and Jim did not want to fly with fish so they kept no fish. I kept 8 for or the grease and we released everything after that. They came for redfish so the majority of our day was dedicated to that. Both Jim and Tony had fished for reds before and understood that the bait needed to be "In Da Grass". We lost count, but near 11AM we had caught and released well over a dozen. All of the fish fell for the live shrimp or finger mullet under the popping corks. Water looked better in the 3 mile area than any where else. Spent the last hour of the trip looking for bull reds in the pogey schools. Went 0 for 0 on both bull reds and triple tail on the way home. Flat calm seas and perfect weather for the smooth steam home. Thanks for the fish Team Smith, it was delicious!!!
