Had three boats out today and everyone found fish. Low water and a healthy dose of the west wind kept all three of us in the 9 mile area. Don't know where Capt Matt wet his first few hooks with the Hall Group, but sounded like they found some chunky trout. Heard on the radio that most were well over 2lbs! I had the Jim Watts crew(Jim and David) we left late and had to be in early. Our first stop was with Capt Kenny, who had Mr Rusty and the boys. We both found the every cast bite of keeper trout and big whites. Jim wanted to look for some reds, and as we idled away I could see the white splashes being reeled behind Kenny's boat corks. The water was way low but we could see the reds a hundred yards out. The fish were waddling down the banks in little to no water. We were able to get close enough to two of the fish before greed got the better of me. I put our boat in a few inches of water and got stuck. Had to jump over in the mud and push us into deeper water. Could still see fish down the bank, but just could not reach them. Did find some more trout and a nice flounder before Jim sent us back to the dock. Fished 3 hours for 8 specks, 14 big whites, 2 reds an a nice flounder. Kenny and his crew hit the dock with 23 keeper trout, 17 whites, one bull red(release) and one small red. Capt Matt returned with a dozen big specks and 6 redfish. Sounded like all three boats used the live shrimp and soft plastics mix and match to get the fish in the LA Marsh.
