Thursday was actually a pretty day on the water. Had an old buddy of mine on the boat, from the Camp Stanislaus days. Chris Farnet was in town all the way from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He wanted to take his mom and dad out for a couple hours of fishing. We left late, but arrived minutes from the dock to an every cast bite. The bay was alive with sheepshead and drum. Chris was one of the fishing boat captains back in the day for Camp Stanislaus. He still has it, and put a hurtin on the local fish population. His folks did well, mom got big fish honors with a big black drum(photo/release). With live and dead shrimp on the bottom, this crew boxed 22 sheepshead(many released), and 5 puppy drum. They also caught several small flounders and 1 rat red. The short boat ride and incredible fishing has been making for some great winter time fishing. If you have friends and family in town for the holidays and want to have some fun in close, this is the trip to take. Everyone really enjoys the steady action of the Bay trips. Got boats open if anyone wants in on it...
