Hundreds of trout hit the dock on Thursday!!!!

This weather has created an absolute nightmare for the guides and costumers. We have been trying our best to reschedule our customers to the best weather days. Well, we finally got a good break in the weather, put down the phones, laptops, and I-pads to do what we do best, FISH.
Had 4 of the boats out on Thursday. Myself, along with Captains Kenny, Matt and Tom all went to the LA Marsh. The winds kept laying, water kept getting prettier and the fish got hungrier and hungrier.
Capt Tom with the Hodge crew found a nest of big hungry bull reds early in the morning. They were all from Texas and had never seen fish this big. Tom said the bulls were hitting like school trout, every cast! After they had all caught some, and torn up enough tackle. they focused their efforts on the sparkle trout. Keeping on steady bite, the crew was trying to release fish. They were worried about keeping fish in their hotel room in the French Quarter. Tom said they released about 20 good ones before he said the heck with this. He offered to ship the fish to them in TX, and they jumped all over it. Big Tom was packing fish(60 trout) when we left him, no rest for the weary...
Capt Matt had Shore Thing Gold Club member Blaise Ernst on his boat with his son Christian. They found a few slot fish early and then picked away at some nice trout before heading in early.
Capt Kenny was fishing with the Chad Stringer Experience. These boys have been punished by the weather. Their Cat Island trip was canceled due to weather, but a few of the gang booked day trips a few days later. The weather only let them out one of the three days they booked. They at least hit a home run on their one good weather day. We joined them for one bite in a small bay loaded with bait, birds, current and trout. They kept trout flying over the side, till a bull red slowed their bite and scattered the school. They finished very strong next to us at the end of the day.
I was able to book Billy Guice and his paw in law David Geary because of the canceled Stringer Cat Island trip. Worked out nicely for them. We started fishing small islands, birds and current lines with Capt Kenny. Never landed on the "Magic Spot" until the last stop of the day. Found some huge shrimp getting punished by 14-16" trout. We were cracking them on Boat Monkey popping corks with Matrix shads under them. We got our limit in no time, and Capt Kenny with the Stringer crew slid right on in. Billy and Mr David were nice enough to send me home to the misses with a Ziploc full of trout.  Capt Kenny finished with a 100 sparkle trout and nice red. We did have a trout get knocked in half by a toothy critter. Bite was soo hot, I grabbed one on a bare jig head.
Looks as though the weather is finally starting to stabilize so we can stay on the fish. On the bad weather days, we have been taking advantage of the down time to get some TLC done on our equipment. The guys at Sport Trail Trailers have helped us get tires, parts and good ole general maintenance. We punish our trailers on a daily basis, but all of our Sport Trails are going strong.
Don't know what we would do with out The Boat House gang(Sid, Steve, Ronald, Dylan, Griffen) and the crew from Atlantic Marine(Bobby, Emily, Cameron, Brent). Both facilities have kept our Yamaha engines well maintained with oil changes, water pumps, lower unit lube jobs, and plenty of parts and service. These guys and gals are the reason we can work as hard as we do. Everything on a boat will at one time or another break, but these people make em last as long as possible. My engine is right at 2,000 hours and there is no other reason than the work these good folks do for us. Many thanks Boat House and Atlantic Marine for all you do for the Shore Thing Family.
