New boat is here, and Fall fishing is near!!!

Capt Jimmy Ray just took delivery on a brand spanking new 24 Blazer Bay. Since the best boat trailers on the planet are made right here in Waveland, MS he had to get one for the new ride. After putting a tricked out Sport Trail boat trailer underneath it, he now has the newest jem in the Shore Thing fleet. On the shakedown cruise, he took his wife and kids out for some near shore red fishing. Looks as though it went well. His wife Tiffany was all smiles, bringing in a mess of reds for supper.
Fall is here and we are all putting our Sport Trail trailers to good use. The boats have been moving all over the county, to get to the best boat launches. Some days, Mother Nature tells us where we should and should not fish. Keeping an eye on buoy reports, radars and forecasts, we just have to play the wind and waves. Just in the last few days, we have launched in Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, and Ansley. Being able to move with the weather has allowed us to get trips out when the crews really want to get on the water.
One such trip was the Knight crew, 4 couples that myself and Capt Kenny took out. Once the morning showers blew through, I took the boys and Kenny took the gals. Between the embroidered fishing shirts, blaring dance music, and adult beverages, Capt Kennys all lady crew was unstoppable. My boys put up a few drum and small throw back fish, but we where no match for the them. They had big drum, lil drum, reds and trout. You just cant compete with a boat load of Southern Belles.
Capt Matt and Alex were out there the same day and they were doing well with the 2 boat Gordon crew. They were putting the weighted Boat Monkey Corks to good use in the stiff winds. Shrimp Creole Matrix shads were the go to color underneath the Boat Monkeys, for the school trout. Since the shrimp seem to be everywhere now, this combo has been deadly.
Capt Matt had a couple good days in the marsh with fellow USM graduate, and Hall of Famer, DeQuincy Scott. DQ and his buddies racked up some big hauls of slot and bull reds. Capt Matt said the big trick was finding clean water in the shallow bays. Once the crew found the right combo, it was game on.
I have always been a "half full" kind of guy, and I think we are in for some STELLAR fall fishing. Some of our weekend dates are already completely booked. If anyone wants to get in on some trout, red, flounder and drum fishing in the cooler weather, please let us know.
