Fishing in between the fronts.

From all of us at Shore Thing Fishing Charters, we would like to wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween.
Looks like the cool temps are here! Before the big front hit, we got spend all week in the LA Marsh, near shore reefs, and the Cat Island House. The trout fishing kept most of the crews busy, but the red fishing has been hard to pass up.
While Capt Kenny and Matt were out at the Cat Island House for most of the week with the Edge crew. I was having a ball with Tommy Rutherford and the gang from Newlyweds Food Corp. The island group made a great call and played the tide for the best bites. Normally, we do a trip in the morning and a trip in the evening when we are out there. Since the water was super low in the mid afternoon, they would leave early in the morning and fish till the tide bottomed out. They would return in the mid afternoon, get cleaned up, have a few beverages and a big dinner. They did well on the specks, whites and reds the entire trip. Long days on the water, but a very smart play by the guides.
I had three of day trips with Tommy and the spice boys from Newlyweds. We did a little bit of everything. We sight fished to reds in the LA Marsh, and caught a few trout. We fished the reefs for sheepshead, and plenty of other critters. We bumped baits for flounder and fished croakers for big trout. Think they enjoyed the fight of the bull reds more than anything.
Looks like we have a few days of wind while this cold front blows through. After a good cold blast, the trout, red, flounder, drum and sheephead fishing should be off the charts. We will pretty much be going non-stop through November, but we have still have boats open most days. Give us a call or shoot us an email if you wanna wet a line. Thanks
