Great Start to Spring Break!!!

Capt Matt an I were able to get two crews out on Wednesday. We gambled on the rain and actually won. Stayed close to the dock, in an around Bay St. Louis, in case the weather got bad (never did).
I had my old buddy Lee Allen on the boat. Lee was supposed to have a truck load of kids on Spring Break. Well... Momma got stuck in Florida with the kids, and Lee was held over an extra day in Houston. Long story short, Lee showed up at the dock, bare footed and with the family dog "Biscuit".
Capt Matt had a nice couple, Richard and Tammy. While me and Lee were working on a box Sheephead, Matt and his crew were finishing off a limit of reds. Best and worst part of the morning was fishing 30 yards from Capt Matts crew. I would assume they were in a school of slot reds, because they were catching one after another. We stayed busy on the sheeps, thinking the school would move our way, but they never did. Lee did however get big fish of the day honors. What we thought was a massive bull red, turned out to be a true "sea monster" black drum. Very glad to see the black drum moving in, just in time for Spring Break.
When the smoke cleared, Lee headed out to see his family with his dog and mess of sheephead fillets. Richard and Tammy vehicle was riding a tad bit lower to the ground. They had a great haul of puppy drum, sheephead, and red fish. Never got a drop of water on us all morning. All the fish were caught with shrimp on bottom rigs.
Be on the lookout, the rivers are flooding. We did see a few small branches floating out with the tide. Nothing to cause any serious damage to a boat, but there will likely more stuff coming down stream. Extended forecast says there is nice weather coming after the rain stops Friday. If anyone wants to enjoy some great Spring fishing, give us a shout. Thanks
