Incredible weather and incredible fishing (red fish, black drum, sheephead)!!!!

While we are waiting for the speckled trout to show up, we have been having an absolute blast with the "other" fish. Our crews have been literally loading the boat with hard fighting and tasty red fish, black drum and sheepshead. A couple of flounders and even a trout or two have been sneaking into the mix. We go through this every single year waiting for the big schools of trout to enter the MS Sound. Instead of burning fuel and trying to make the trout appear, we are going for the best bang for the buck.
The catch Capt Kenny had on Sunday with the Barnett Boys was an absolute slaughter. I saw them unloading at the dock, and it was impressive. Could not tell if his crew was more tired or more happy. Either way, they had a great haul of reds, black drum and sheepshead.
Capt Matt and I were out today, and it was glass calm. First day of the year wearing shorts for me, its always a treat. I had the Green Team with me (Danny, Parker and Debbie). All they wanted to do was catch big fish. Did not take long to find the big drum and reds. Mission of the day was to get Mrs Debbie on a big red and a big black drum. Proud to say that she caught the biggest fish of her life. Young Parker had the hot hand. He is on his high schools BASS team, and it showed. He got the biggest and the most, little sucker even made me break my landing net on one of the sea monsters he caught. He did like the Okuma spinning reels I had. His favorite was the new Caymus, he gave that thing a work out all day long. The Trio 30s got his stamp of approval too.
Capt Matt was on a last minute booking from the Burkett Boys from Picayune, MS. They got treated to great weather and even greater fishing. They did a number on the smaller eaters and even put a few big critters in the boat too. Normally we try to encourage our customers to plan ahead for their trips, but we are happy to work last minute trips too.
Extended forecast looks pretty darn good, and the fishing just keeps getting better everyday! If the weather does get bad, we can always reschedule. Let us know if we can set something up for yall. Thanks
