Lotta Bull Reds, Plenty of Drum and even a few Speckled Trout!!!

The boats have been going strong and the fishing has been great. On the good weather days, we have been taking advantage of the calm seas and going to the LA Marsh. Some of the crews have still been staying in close, with good reason. The near shore fishing this Spring has been fast and furious.
I am sure I will miss some of the details from the trips we ran this week, but maybe the pictures will tell the rest of the story. Had a good buddy of mine on the boat Tuesday. The "Boat Monkey Boys" were on board for some incredible red fishing. Tommy an Asa Theus from Boat Monkey Float Company joined me for a fun day in LA Marsh. This father and son duo are the creators of the finest popping corks in the world. We got to talk shop all day about their plans for the company and really just got to talk fishing. We stayed back in the ponds, using the very high tide to our advantage. We were able to get way back in the ponds for a good day of catching slot reds, and just "Monkey Around".
Capt Matt was out in the marsh with us, but he was fishing open bays. Proud to report, he found a decent mess of speckled trout. Back at the dock, he had a bone to pick with the Boat Monkey Boys. He claimed their corks worked too well. Just when they were getting the trout rolling, they bull reds would move through and annihilate the popping corks. He said he lost 6 corks to hungry bull reds. Good thing Tommy and Asa left us a few extra. Capt Matt and the Hester crew had 26 keeper trout, several reds, and had plenty of throw back trout and bulls. When Matt was cleaning the reds, their bellies were packed slap full of sand eels. The reds we have been catching on the reefs in MS waters have been full of them too.
Capt Kenny has been putting in some time on the near shore reefs in MS waters. He has been running the heck out the 4 hour near shore trips. He has had crews wanting to fish mornings and some leaving in the afternoons. Mrs Regina and her crew left Florida early Wednesday morning and was working on black drum, sheephead and trout just after lunch time. Capt Kenny put all four of them on a big spring time sea monster black drums.
Father daughter duo, Jenny and Jeff were back again. They got treated to picture perfect weather, and some incredible red fishing. We have caught a bull red or two together, but never this many bull reds. They even caught bulls on their 2nd and 3rd casts of the morning! We found a few keeper trout, technically the best trout catch of 2015 for my boat 12 keepers. Most of the day was spent fighting big bulls though. Jenny and Mr Jeff landed 11 big bull red fish!!!
Most of the weekends for the next 3 months, we have very few boats still open, some are booked solid. In time, the weekdays will be harder to get on a boat. If yall want to reserve something, just let us know. Thanks
