Check out these photos!!!! Fishing report at bottom!!!!

The boats have been booked everyday, but we have gotten weathered out on a couple. On the days we have fished, the Spring time fishing has been very enjoyable. The guides have been taking out big corporate crews, bachelor parties, family crews and Spring Breakers. On the calmer days, many of the boats have been heading over to the LA Marsh. Regardless of the seas, most of the crews have gone on our shorter near shore trips.  The incredible near shore fishing has kept crews very entertained with the humongous sea monster black drum, plentiful sheepshead, keeper slot reds, and still seeing a few specks and flounder here and there.
The 4 boat Irvin crew was all over the MS Sound on Saturday. Capt Darren was the only boat that stayed on a steady bite all day. The rest of the crews started slow, but finished with a bang! When the smoke cleared, they ended with 84 Sheepshead, 15 flounder,  and liberal dose of red fish, black drum and speckled trout.
Me and Capt Kenny were out with the Hindsman bachelor party for their buddy Justin. They wanted some fish for dinner and to gamble for biggest fish. Early into the morning, I thought we had it wrapped up with a 3 foot long black drum. Capt Kenny fished along side us, so we could keep the wager fair. They beat us with a 37 1/2 inch sea monster black drum. In between the big drum, both boats put together nice boxes of sheepshead, drum, flounder and trout.
During the week, we got blessed with some amazing weather. Took advantage of the flat calm seas and went to the LA Marsh. Capt Matt covered plenty of water. I had three generations with the Carr Crew (Dwight, Kevin, Clay and Aaron). Started strong, putting the young spring breakers to work. They just about loaded the fish box with sheepshead before I made them pump the breaks. The trout had lock jaw, but the big sheepshead were thick. Gott a call from Capt Matt who was drifting shell bottoms and putting a few keeper trout on ice. He was with the Story Crew, party of 1, Mr Bill. Our crew only managed a few keepers, but Mr Bill nabbed 15 keepers before both crews went looking for reds. Once the water came up in the afternoon we were able to drift some shallow bays, absolutely infested with hungry bull reds. You could see the mud clouds in the water. Once you saw the clouds, you just casted and tried to hang on. We had many doubles and even a triple or two. Capt Matt and Mr Bill drifted the bay with us, and both crews got all they could stand. Our crew tapped out when we released our 14th bull red fish.
Tuesday, I had the Fisher Men, last name was "Fisher". Mr Dave, son-in-law Jim, and grand sons Augie and Evan. All the way from Minnesota, these boys were in for a treat. First cast of the morning and they were locked in with a sea monster. Lady luck stayed with the boys, especially young Augie. He just kept fish coming over side all morning. Big drum, keeper reds, puppy drum, sheepshead, and even a few ground mullet. They kept a few of the smaller ones for the grease, and gave the bigger ones the release.
Been trying out an Okuma Avenger 35 spinning reel. This a lower priced reel, that has handled big bull reds, huge drum, and other big critters without a hitch. Really have enjoyed my new favorite reel, the Okuma Caymus. Tough, light , and cast like a rocket.
Just makin it do what it do, and having a great time makin memories.
