Catching Plenty, Eating Good, Inredible Water Front Lodging and Cat Island Too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy but we have had some incredible trips and some amazing news this past week. Finally got to catch up with Capt Matt and Capt Alex on their trip to Cat Island this past Tuesday to Thursday. Fonde and Garlon from Beard equipment brought a crew of 7 people for some island fun. The boys did a number on the drag screaming bull reds that have been all over the LA Marsh. They said they caught a few trout, but no huge numbers yet. Sounded like Chef Frank hit a home run as usual with the seafood, steaks and hearty breakfasts he always serves.
Friday was an interesting trip, but one of the better near shore we have had. Capt Kenny and I got up very early to get the boats ready. The wind was howling and the storms were moving in from the south. The Krueger Crew from Wednesday stayed in town to fish again on Friday. They were not exactly "roughing it" at one of the many rental properties we recommend to our customers. We have numerous rental properties we utilize, right on the water. The house they were staying at is on the Bay, sleeps 14 people, and has a private pier. We told them to just hang out and watch for the boats. When the weather broke, we just met them at their pier and loaded up there. Talk about front door service!
Made a 10 minute run and went straight to catching. They were betting again, this time for first fish, most fish and biggest fish. Before we even pulled back on the throttle, Capt Kennys crew had a red fish coming over the side. My boat was able to claim the biggest fish title again, with a 40 inch black drum. Honestly don't remember who got the most, but everyone caught plenty. Shrimp on the bottom was the winning ticket. Could not tell you how many bottom rigs we tied, but the snags kept us busy. We topped off the fish boxes right when the wind and waves were picking back up. Best part was while I was literally picking up the anchor, the boys were still brining in red fish that we had no more room for. With tails sticking out, we just eased back to their pier. The knives got a work out, we had 16 redfish, and a pile of tasty sheephead and puppy drum to clean. If their ever was a day to be in a redfish tournament! There is actually one going on down here this weekend. All the fish were fatties, and 6 of our 16 reds were just under 27 (LA Slot) inches. Six of the big reds were just under 30 inches (MS Slot). Very glad to see these tournaments are coming to MS, so people can experience our incredible fishery. Just wish they would include sheephead and black drum in them...
While we were cleaning the Krueger crew's fish, Capt Darren was delivering our new sign to be hung at THE BLIND TIGER Restaurant in Old Town Bay St. Louis. We have teamed up with the owner Chef Thomas Genin, to have our customers freshly caught/cleaned fish prepared by his cooks. This establishment is open air and over looks the Bay. Our customers have been thrilled to stay, fish, eat and "drank", in Bay St. Louis. With so much to do, and being so close together, the Bay is literally a "one stop shop".  It is such a nice treat for traveling customers unable to bring fish back home to have freshly caught fish prepared. Not having to cook or clean is a nice touch too. Our corporate, bachelor party and large family groups have all raved about how much they have enjoyed our "Kill it and Grill it Experience". Most of the groups just hand a bag of fish to the cook and tell them to surprise them. None have been disappointed.
