Our Shore Thing guides do our very best to cater each trip for each group. Our guides will check in a few days prior to your scheduled date. During that time, we will make sure you are clear on the exact time and place we will be picking you up. We base our time and place on weather, tides, bait, and what puts us closest to the fish. If the weather is bad or even questionable, we can discuss options. If your trip is not looking safe and or productive, we will do our best to reschedule or cancel. Our Mississippi and Louisiana fishing charter company want you and your group to have fun, be comfortable, and catch fish. Men, women, children, young and old are all welcome on our boats.
ALL of our guides use spinning gear. If you prefer to bring your own gear, that is ok, but we have plenty. Our guides will be happy to help anyone on the boats who need it. The guides are there to assist you, they want you fishing. They will fish as much or as little as you need. First timers or seasoned Professionals are ALL welcome.
Depending on which trip you take, you will possibly be fishing marshes, reefs, islands and or wrecks. We primarily fish for inshore species: speckled trout, red fish, triple tail, flounder, black drum, sheepshead, sharks, and a few others. It is typically in shallow protected waters. We like to use live or dead bait, but when the situation calls for artificial lures, we are happy to use those too. Popping corks and bottom rigs are very common methods on the boats. Like any fishing, the weather and time of year dictates where we fish and what we fish for. Our guides will let you know prior to your trip what to expect. If there is an area you’d like to fish, or a species you’d like to fish for, please let your guide know. Our guides are brutally honest, and they will give their best options for your trip.
There are specific limits for just about every fish we target. Our guides will make sure your catch is well within the legal limit. If you want to release fish, that is fine too. If you want to target different species, our guides will do their best to accommodate. Some species are better during different times of year, and under specific conditions. Just ask, and our guides will give you their honest opinion on any fishing scenario.
After your trip, your guide will clean your catch (at NO additional charge). If you like, there are two local restaurants that will cook your fresh catch. You can go straight from the boat, with your catch, and enjoy an amazing meal.
